SUPERCHARGED MOTORS
the trend of the times
All of the world's speed records on land, on water, and in the air are held by supercharged engines. Most of the passenger air lines of the United States use supercharged engines exculsively-what a proof of reliability! And in Europe the finest automobiles as well as airplanes have been equipped with supercharged engines for many years. Unfortunately, in spite of the fact that American engineers well understand the superiority of the supercharged engine, our system of mass production at minimum cost has prevented automobile manufactures from building supercharged engines exclusively. However, because the supercharger is unquestionably the key to super-power and super-economy, each year reflects the trend of the times with more and more supercharged engines opening up new realms of motoring pleasure for those who demand the super performance which only the supercharger can provide.
SUPERCHARGING FOR TRUCKS
Did any truck ever have enough power? If all trucks were used at sea level and never overloaded the answer might be yes, but think what additional power means in any case. It means faster schedules, greater pay loads, and lower fuel bills! The McCulloch Supercharger puts the Ford V-8 truck in the class of trucks costing twice as much, and incidentally, costing many times as much to operate. In the truck field the Supercharger ceases to be a desirable accessory-it is a necessity! If your Ford truck is not already super-powered with a McCulloch Supercharger, you have been losing many dollars and much valuable time.
Many testimonials from owners of Ford V-8 trucks equipped with McCulloch Superchargers tell the story and give amazing records of performance and economy. Your request for information about the McCulloch Supercharger for Ford V-8 trucks will bring you a wealth of convincing facts, figures, and general information.
SUPERCHARGING AT HIGH ALTITUDES
Few people other than engineers, realize that low air pressure at altitudes above sea level prevents an unsupercharged engine from developing its full rated horsepower. The amount of power loss is tremendous-from 3% to 5% per thousand feet, depending on the compression ratio! This means that an automobile with standard cylinder heads is only capable of developing 75% of its rated horsepower at Denver, 60% at Mexico City, and 30% at the top of Pike's peak. No wonder your car is so sluggish in the mountainous country! And when do you need maximum power more?
Fortunately, the McCulloch Supercharger is a perfect remedy for this problem of low atmospheric pressure and the resultant power loss, for it compensates for reduced air pressure just as airplane superchargers do. With the McCulloch Supercharger on your Ford V8 you can expect brilliant performance at any altitude, and from performance of your car you will never know how high you are above sea level-if you care, you will have to buy an altimeter!
